Wild Flower
I realized recently that in my attempt to create unisex scents, I don’t actually have many feminine scents. Well, I do have 1 pure lavender soap. But I wanted to create another sweet feminine floral. I would LOVE to create a natural Rose or Jasmine soap, especially Jasmine as it is one of the scents I love about this area.
often, deep summer, i am walking along some street and suddenly get hit by the mystical and luring Jasmine…. i look around… follow my nose and seek it out…. finding the bush/plant, i stick my nose deep in and inhale……….
Well, basically it would be too expensive.
So, I combined the florals I have & love – Lavender, Geranium & Ylang Ylang and included pink clay.
You see, I am on a quest to recreate a wonderful scent I already had! Has this ever happened to you?
Over a year ago, I had accidentally created a wonderful EO blend with leftover Eos…… It was the type of scent that I just could not stop sniffing. A Ylang Ylang, Geranium and Lavender blend….
I sent one of the bars to Cocobong in a Soap Swap and she seemed to like the scent too!!! Here was her awesome post about it…

In attempts to recreate the scent though, it has never been the same! I even wrote down the quantities but I must have changed suppliers along the way.
This one is not bad, a little heavy on the Ylang Ylang but it is no “Lady of Leisure”…
The quest continues.
Happy Friday!!!!

Hola Jen !
ReplyDeleteGod how I love this soap!
I can smell it and feel it!
I love the smell of flowers and pink...
A perfect soap for me!
Congratulations and great weekend!
Friendly kiss ,Claudia!
Very pretty and it sounds like a great blend. I have to try making girly soap.
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, Are you referring to your white & purple swirled Wildflower Soap? I'm still savoring a sliver of that one! :) So nice, and this new re-creation is BEAUTIFUlISCIOUS! What a PINK! Very pretty and feminine. :) -xo Becky
ReplyDeleteLovely pink and I can almost smell it. I really like girly soaps, but I guess there's got to be some for the guys also. wouldn't it be wonderful if Rose and Jasmine were actually affordable!
ReplyDeleteGlorious pink soap!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm loving that vibrant shade of pink. I had no idea you could get such a nice shade from pink clay. The EO blend sounds just heavenly.

Wow, beautiful! So simple but the pink clay really makes this soap stand out. Often times I tend to gravitate more to floral blends than single note florals. I really enjoy the added depth of different notes =)
ReplyDeleteI love that pink! The scent sounds lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful soap. I love the pink colour you achieved with the clay.
ReplyDeleteI love the size and shape of your soap. The pink color is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteClaudia, Muchisimas gracias. Espero que estes disfrutando de tu fin de semana también. xoxo Jen
ReplyDeleteCoco, I am enjoying the femininity of this soap. Are you making soap lately? Did you try your curing salt soap? How was it? xo Jen
ReplyDeleteBecky, Soap Sister, Yes I was referring to that purple swirled soap, but I am not sure if you got the first batch. It was the first batch which had the scent to die for. Then with subsequent batches, I have just never been able to achieve that same perfect scent. Still searching... I actually think I may have put a little too much pink clay in this one... Oooops. I will know when it cures, I try it and what the colour of the suds are like. I always like when they are white. xo Jen
ReplyDeleteAmbra, I occasionally like girly soaps as well.. but I am on a serious patchouli kick now. Can't get enough of it. I wish I wish I wish I could make an awesome NATURAL jasmine soap bar... Thanks for the comments! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteMichele, Tierra Verde, Glad you like the colour!! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteMichelle, Two Blooms, I love working with clays. My best green is with Green clay and this pink has turned out nice as well... however I am not sure if I put a little too much in.... I like the look but I wonder it the suds will be white!? Thanks for the comments. xo Jen
ReplyDeleteAnne-Marie, Thanks for the comments, how DO YOU FIND THE TIME???? I seriously admire you, your positivity, your seemingly effortless way to do it all!! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteHolly, Thank you so much!! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteTara, Thank you!!! I asked you in some blog post somewhere, where do you live? But can't find the response.... I am heading to Canada for 3 weeks on June 25. Will mostly be in Toronto with mum, Collingwood and Huntsville with Dad and visiting Ottawa maybe Quebec. Are you anywhere near? Any chance we could get together and soap? xo Jen
ReplyDeleteMilla, Thank you. It has taken me a while to get the exact size soap that I like. This may change a little as I am having bigger moulds but I will try to stick to these. They are 5cm height. 3.1 - 3.2cm thick and 7,5cm wide. I wouldn't mind bring them down to 7cm wide. I like them small enough to fit in small hands, and children's hands, but I like them thickish. For some strange reason, I don't like a thin soap. Glad you like them!!!! xo Jen
ReplyDeleteHi Jen, I am in Burlington, just outside of Toronto. We are camping at the beginning of August but should be around otherwise.
ReplyDeleteTara, Bulington is close enough to Toronto. It may be too ambitious of me... there is always so much to do on these all-too short trips home... but as I have never made soap with a fellow soap maker, I would love to. xo Jen
