How NOT to Remove Soap from an Unlined Mould

Brute force?  Doesn’t work… it can actually destroy moulds…
Running a little hot water over the mould?  Works brilliantly…
Happy Experimenting!!

  1. Wow. They look great. Do you grease or line your mold?

  4. That looks like a fun mold! Cool to be able to see the soap right through it.

  5. Love the soap, but wonder is the mold glass? It looks like a vase I once had! Brutality in soap? Who knew! LOL

  7. Traci R, I do like these moulds, but has been a challenge to get the soap out until now. First I tried lining them, but that was a challenge and the soap came out not very smooth. Without lining, and no, no grease, the soaps come out AWESOME. Just how to get them out? They need to be not too hard, and running warm water over them helps too. Here is the link to the moulds if you wish to purchase - http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/cafe-de-savon/item/a1090701/

  9. Pam, Thanks for your comment! No it isn't glass. It is a really hard plastic. This is what happened when the soap got too hard in the mould, couldn't get it out so I asked my husband to help... he just wouldn't give up until it was completely shattered!! Oh well, live and learn! xo Jen

Mika, Thanks for your tips as well. I am finally comfortable with getting the soap out... thank you!! xo Jen

  12. Interesting! I thought when you said run hot water at the mold first before taking the soap log out. you meant freeze it then run hot water to release it. You don't freeze it first?

  13. Natural Aroma, Thanks for your comment... yeah it was rough accepting that my mould got broken, but it is all in the name of experimenting! Shouldn't happen again! xo Jen

Polly, Thanks for commenting... yes our husbands do sound similar! We are both pleased I found a simpler way...

Shiegh, Thanks for your comment! I have tried freezing a few times, then the hot water, but it didn't work for me. Simply running hot water has been working very well. xoxo Jen
