Oh that looks lovely! But where are the cut pics!

PS, in your title, you wrote soup mould which was funny but I'm sure you didn't mean it to be!

Hi Celine, Thanks for the comment. Cut soap photos will be the next phase. I want to show the log splitter that my Dad made me in progress, then the cutter I use. I have seen soap moulds or soap molds written both ways so i wasn't intentially trying to be funny but glad to give you a giggle!! Your soaps have been beautiful lately! You have become the master of the spoon swirl. xoxo Jen

I love the photos in this post. That mold is fabulous! Orange poppy seed sounds so nice and a nice change from lemon poppy seed. I can't wait to see you post more about splitting the loaves and cutting!

I think it was the 'soup' part that was funny because I got a giggle too. I always interchange soup and soap. :)

Ah Celine! Just realized I had typed Soup instead of Soap! I think I will go correct it now... Hee hee hee

Hi Holly, Thanks for the comment! I had been wanting a mould like this for some time, so I got a carpenter to make one. I looked around on line for examples first and took him photos. The idea of removing one side came from photos from Patti Flynn. I am pretty pleased with it but I would get it sanded down a little better because i think I could get splinters. Also I would adjust the size slightly when I get the next one made. Thanks for the correction about SOUP!! Always happens to me... My orange poppyseed soap has been pretty popular and I do an orange poppyseed sea-salt scrub as well, which creates junkies. I seriously have addicts to that product. Lovin your new blog. xox Jen

Michele, Thank you! I was wondering what you use in your orange oats soap to hold the orange smell in? I have finally got a great lemon blend that sticks with Litsea, Lemongrass and Lemon... but orange? Smells beautiful at first, then the spices sort of take over. xoxo Jen

Maggie, Please go ahead and show the mould. I actually got a carpenter to do this one, from photos I had fished off the internet. This idea (side coming out) comes from Patti Flynn's moulds! Loved your recent post! xo Jen

Becky, I am loving this mould but will change the size slightly when I get the next one made. Glad you like the shavings. Me too... going to use them up soon. xoxo Jen

Petra, Glad you like the look of the mould and the soap. It is naturally coloured with Annatto and has poppyseeds, freshly squeezed orange juice and grated peels from local oranges. Thanks for your comment! xo Jen

Love the soap and also your mould. I really like how you can slide off one side instead of having to use screws and other tools. I have to get one made too, and hope you don't mind if I steal the slide-off idea. Great pictures Jen!!

Hi Nitya, Please go ahead and use the idea! Thanks for the comment!! xoxo jen

Jen,

Oh this new batch looks yummy for sure. Love the new mold, what a clever design. Looking forward to cut photos. You should try some Patchouli with your Orange blend to help the scent.

Jen, thanks so much for taking the time to do the photos the way you did. Does the block of soap really slide off the end fairly easily ? Its looks like it does.

And speaking of orange EO. I made an orange bar with chamomile petals and used TD to whiten. The scent has really stayed very well (now 12 weeks later) don't know if related to the plant material or the TD for whitening but I am enjoying that fresh clean orange thing.

Leg still good ?

Donna, So glad that you liked the picture story of my soap making process... it is to be continued very shortly... Yes the soap just slides right out of the mould easily. Sometimes, depending on how good I line the mould, some soap seeps out and the slab sticks a bit. It may be difficult to get out if I couldn't just slide it out.

Hmmm... camomile petals? or TD? Interesting. I wonder if anyone else knows which has helped your orange stick? Is it sweet orange? Orange 5 fold or 10 fold? I tried 10 fold at one point, but it is questionable how good it is for the skin (one of my suppliers won't carry it because of this) and I didn't find it stuck much more than 5 fold.

Thanks for remembering about my leg. Feeling really great.

Maty, Muchisimas gracias. Un carpintero me hizo el molde justo como yo lo queria. Tampoco era muy caro. Si quieres usar la idea y llevarlo a un carpintero, podrías usar las fotos. Gracias!!! xoxo Jen
