More Potpourri...

I love playing around with my potpourri soap... and each batch looks so different.
The set things are that it is a goat milk soap and the scent combo is Lavender, Lemongrass, Fennel and Ylang Ylang, which I love...

I love your potpourri soaps, jen. I noticed your nice blue pieces. I have begun experimenting with indigo. is this how you achieved your blue soap? the first time I used it, I added it directly to my soap at trace but my soap ended up a pale green. This time I am infusing my olive oil with the indigo first. i am hoping this will work but am afraid it might be because my plain soap tends to be a pale yellow. yellow + blue = green. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi Tara,

You will have to tell me all about YOUR experiments with indigo and we can swap experiences. The only nice blue that I have achieved with indigo is when the oils are ALL WHITE... in other words, my salt soap which is mostly coconut oil. If there is any olive oil in your recipe, I believe they will go green. The blues and purples here I achieved with alkanet and ratanjot.. they are not really blue... then the darkest one is with charcoal. Good luck! Let me know how your experimenting goes!! xo jen

Oh Jen, as always so beautiful. And the smell sounds perfect. I still have one of the soaps you sent me but I refuse to ever unwrap it because the wrapping is such a work of art itself. When I sent som soaps to Tatiana in Australia yesterday it took me an hour to wrap them because I kept thinking of YOU and your wrapping!

My how I love the world of soap.

You reminded me how much little pieces of soap I have everywhere! Great idea!

Tara, Forgot to mention that I add the indigo at trace. xo Jen

Donna, Oh how I love the soap world as well!! USE my soap!! Forget the wrapping... it is like a wrapped Christams present, just tear it open and get what's inside!!! xoxo Jen

Blanca.

Oh, I like this batch a lot! The base color is such a nice neutral and the little bits really pop. Nice job!

Soap Sister, Thank you! Glad you liked them! xo

Suerte!!

Petre (Miscellanea), Thank you. i like your term "happy scrappy"...!! xo Jen

Michelle, Thank you so much!! xo Jen

Sirona Springs, Thanks for your comment. Glad you liked this one. The base colour is simply goat milk soap, but it stays lighter when I make it in the colder weather. xoxox Jen

Saludos Isabel.
