Green Soap 4 - Nettle 2

My second attempt at Nettle is much nicer. I really like this green, similar to the Spiriluna but less olive. The only liquid in this is strong Nettle tea. I am not sure if I like the speckles which come from the mulch. For the mulch, I blended up the wet, leftover tea with my hand mixer and added some at trace. I will do a little more experimenting with nettle I think, to see if I like it with or without mulch. I may steep the tea for longer. But then, I think I will have a keeper.

Next experiment: Green Tea

That looks like a very nice green colour, Jen. I actually like the specks. I tried comfrey in a soap and got decent green, but not as nice as that. I need to go out to hunt for nettles before they all die down.

I'm with Ambra -LOVE the specks and the color! Really nice. Makes me wonder if nettle grows in Southern Illinois? Very pretty result, but you know I'll have to try it in HP...which may cook the color out...I'll let you know, but you've sure inspired me to try! Thanks Jen!

I have recently tried a nettle soap with dried nettle at the trace, and I like it, it'sreally gentle with the skin.I aslo added a little green clay.I am thinking of trying the same soap but with nettle powder at trace, for the colour and for the proprieties.ThX

Hello Anonymous, Thanks for telling me about your experiments with nettle and green clay. Let me know how the green holds up. One important question - does it stink? xoxoxo Jen
